Rubio urged to punish Iraq with sanctions of “maximum pressure” for his “complete subjugation” of Iran

First on the fox: A couple of Chamber Republicans urge Secretary Marco Rubio to punish Iraq with sanctions for his “complete subjugation” by Iran as part of the “maximum pressure” policy of the United States towards Tehran.

“More than 4,400 members of the US Service sacrificed their lives since the beginning of the Iraq war, but today Iraq is merely a tehran puppet,” said Requs. Joe Wilson, Rs.c., and Greg Steube, R-fla.

The letter blamed the Obama administration, arguing former President Barack Obama and his Iraqi envy Brett McGurk “proposed” the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, whose leadership was affected by the brutal political repressions and led to the rise of ISIS.

“The Obama administration doubled in its mistakes, based on Iranian support militias to fight Isis,” the letter read. “The consequences of these failed decisions are now undeniable: Iran’s supported forces have a powerless power over Iraq’s government and security services.”

Since 2015, the United States has offered Iraq forces $ 1.25 million in foreign military funding, as well as billions more for the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Defense.

Iran’s Iran’s influence on Iraq was shown when, by 2021, Iraq issued a detention order for President Donald Trump for the slaughter of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, even when the United States still have 2,500 forces on the ground in Iraq to collaborate with local forces and fight Isis.

The letter calls for the United States to sanction the import of Iranian gas Iraq. Currently, only gas payment is in sanction, that is, Iran gives Iraq fuel without charge, but awaits refund in other ways. The Trump administration ended with a resignation that allowed Iraq to buy Iranian electricity in March.

He also requested sanctions on Iraq’s political figures to allow Iranian influence to bloom.
